You don’t need a guy out there to play the policeman. That’s not our game. We try to stay out of the (scrums) after the whistle because it’s a waste of time, a waste of energy. Some teams maybe need to do that to be successful. We just try to play a physical game and combine that with skill and determination. That’s how we win.

Everytime I go to NHL.com and see that the Wings are losing by 3 goals or more, I assume they must have started Conklin in net.

Never in my life I was picked first. Ever since I was a child playing pick-up games outdoors, I was picked closer to the end or dead last.
